The last book in the series!! I really enjoyed them all, but this one definitely had a more serious tone to it. Because it takes place during WWI, Rilla's brothers have enlisted and are fighting in the trenches. Rilla struggles to "keep the faith" while doing what she can for the war effort in the Junior Red Cross and taking care of her "war-baby" (a baby boy she rescued when his mother died and his father was deployed). Although still sweet and sentimental like all of Montgomery's novels, this one is more somber and Rilla must learn to be more practical. It was a great way to end the series!
