Review: The Children of Henry VIII

The Children of Henry VIII The Children of Henry VIII by Alison Weir
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a really interesting book about the time from when King Henry VIII died and his son Edward was on the throne until Queen Elizabeth took over. Although I have studied this period of history and knew much of this, it was still fascinating. I learned several things that I didn't know before, especially about Mary and Lady Jane Grey. For example, I didn't know how kind and considerate Mary was (it is just too bad that didn't extend to "heretics"). Alison Weir describes Lady Jane Grey's death so adeptly that I realized that I was getting emotional while I was listening. It was really well-written!
